Smart Finance Guide exists to help everyday Americans make better financial decisions — without the jargon, without the sales pitch, and without the guesswork. We publish independent research, comparisons, and guides covering insurance, personal finance, investing, taxes, and financial technology.
Every piece of content on this site is written to answer a real question that real people search for. We don’t publish for the sake of volume. We publish when we have something genuinely useful to say.
Who We Are
Smart Finance Guide is a publication of XIVIX, a financial technology and content company headquartered in South Korea with operations serving the US market. Our editorial team includes writers and analysts with backgrounds in consumer finance, insurance underwriting, tax planning, and financial technology.
Our editorial contributors bring direct professional experience in the fields they cover. We don’t assign auto insurance articles to writers who’ve never read a policy declaration page. Subject matter expertise is a prerequisite, not a bonus.
Our Editorial Standards
How We Research
Every guide and comparison begins with primary source research. We consult:
- Regulatory data: SEC filings, NAIC reports, IRS publications, Bureau of Labor Statistics data, Federal Reserve surveys
- Industry sources: AM Best ratings, J.D. Power satisfaction studies, CFPB complaint databases
- Direct product research: We obtain actual quotes, read actual policy documents, and test actual platforms before writing about them
We do not fabricate statistics. If a specific number appears in our content, it either comes from a cited source or is explicitly identified as an estimate or range. When exact data isn’t available, we say “approximately” or provide a range — we never invent precise figures to appear authoritative.
How We Fact-Check
Our content goes through a multi-step review before publication:
- Source verification — Every statistic, claim, and recommendation is traced back to its original source. If we can’t verify it, we don’t publish it.
- Currency check — Financial products, rates, and regulations change. We review and update published guides regularly, with
lastmoddates reflecting the most recent review. - Conflict of interest disclosure — We clearly disclose when content includes affiliate links or when we receive compensation from featured companies. Our editorial opinions are not influenced by these relationships.
How We Handle Corrections
We’re human. If we get something wrong, we fix it promptly and transparently. Corrections are noted at the bottom of the affected article with the date and nature of the change. If you spot an error, contact us at the email below — we take accuracy seriously.
How We Make Money
Transparency matters. Here’s exactly how Smart Finance Guide generates revenue:
Advertising. We display advertisements through Google AdSense. These ads are algorithmically placed and do not influence our editorial content. We don’t write articles to promote specific advertisers.
Affiliate commissions. Some articles contain links to financial products and services. When you click these links and take a qualifying action (such as requesting a quote or opening an account), we may receive a commission from the provider through networks like CJ Affiliate. This never changes what we recommend — we feature products based on our independent evaluation, and many of the products we recommend highest don’t have affiliate programs at all.
What we don’t do: We don’t accept payment for positive reviews. We don’t publish sponsored content disguised as editorial. We don’t let advertisers preview or approve our content before publication.
